Project Context
About the Product

EasyRent connects the customer-side Johome App with the business-side Johome Pro App. Landlords and tenants can create rental posts, while realtors can manage leads, represent clients, and improve posts through highlight editing.

Shared data allows listing posts, request posts, and communication to move between both sides, reducing repeated work and supporting customer-approved post transfer.

Key Design Challenges

The main challenge was creating a system where customers stayed in control, while realtors still had meaningful ways to generate leads, represent clients, and manage rental posts.

Challenge 2: Reducing Repeated Work
  • Customers and realtors needed to reuse the same rental information across Johome App and Johome Pro App.

  • Recreating posts manually would slow down the representation process.

  • Transfer an existing listing after customer approval.

  • Let realtors review, edit, and complete the listing without starting from scratch.

Challenge 3: Mapping Bilingual and Cross-City Rental Data
  • EasyRent needed to support Vancouver and Toronto rental markets.

  • The platform also needed Chinese and English versions.

  • Rental fields had to stay connected across languages and cities while supporting local differences.

AI-Assisted Workflow

Because the timeline was limited, I used AI to speed up usability testing, prototype creation, and developer handoff.

I used AI tools to support the usability testing workflow from test preparation to report generation.

Result

Reduced testing synthesis work from 3 days to 1 day, allowing faster iteration after each testing round.

Instead of relying only on static Figma screens, I used Figma, Claude Code, GitHub, and Vercel to create interactive prototypes for developer communication.

This helped the team understand interaction details more clearly and reduced back-and-forth during handoff.

  1. MCP Handoff Experiment

I researched how Figma could connect with Claude Code through MCP, then shared the experiment results with the development team lead.

After the experiment, the team started using this workflow to generate front-end code, saving around 50% implementation time.

Reflection

This project taught me that designing a two-sided platform is not only about creating forms. The bigger challenge is how different users share data, communicate, and move between customer-side and business-side workflows.

I also learned that AI is most useful when it helps solve real workflow bottlenecks. It helped me move faster in usability testing, prototyping, and handoff, while final design decisions still came from user needs, product logic, and team alignment.
