What is JustKa and why it matters
FamiCook (within the FamilyMart app) is a meal-kit and ready-made food ordering feature integrated into Taiwan’s main convenience-store app, reaching over 18 million users.
It digitizes in-store ordering workflows, streamlining operations across 4,316 locations and boosting product sales through contextual recipe recommendations.
Why the App needed a design
Manual Ordering Process: Customers interested in FamiCook products had to fill out physical forms in-store, leading to inefficiencies and potential errors in order processing.
Lack of Digital Integration: There was no existing digital platform or app feature to facilitate the browsing and purchasing of FamiCook products.
Resource Constraints: Without an in-house design team or sufficient resources dedicated to app development, FamilyMart needed to outsource the design and development of the FamiCook app to external experts.

Design a new meal kit mini app that allows users to browse, order, and pay, along with an internal dashboard for staff to manage inventory and edit product details.
Business Goals
Enhance Customer Convenience: Provided users with easy access to curated recipes and ready-made meal options, which simplified meal planning and encouraged product exploration.
Improve operational efficiency: Created an internal dashboard for store staff to manage product availability, update inventory, and edit meal kit details in real time.
Increase Product Sales: Promoted FamilyMart’s ready-to-eat and meal kit offerings by integrating them into recipe suggestions, driving higher sales through contextual marketing.
Strength Brand Loyalty: Offered personalized and engaging content within the app to foster a deeper connection with customers and encourage repeat usage.

By integrating FamiCook into the FamilyMart app, it provided a new digital touchpoint for their extensive customer base. As of October 2024, the FamilyMart app had 18 million member users in Taiwan.
Optimize Staff Workflow:
